5/28/25: First Day

Shot on Fuji 400 with Miranda Sensorex, Miranda 50mm f/1.8

This is genuinely the first time I have ever coded seriously in my life. I was so unbelievably overwhelmed at what I was looking at the very first time I loaded up the website builder, and I started to realize just how much work others put into coding their own website. I felt a sense of awe. I had my first taste of Neocities through my friend at school who sent me a link to inaka.me and I thought the website and the design was just so awesome. I had wondered for a while as to how he had even found this website, but after looking through the website and finding the buttons that link to other people's websites, I felt like I had discovered an entirely new part of the internet. I love discovering new things, and the almost infinite number of webistes there are to discover, with all their intricate designs and layouts, makes me so excited to look through all of them. I am a rather creative person that is quite impressionable, I feel very inspired to create my own website. It's definitely lackluster right now, but hopefully it will become a lot nicer as I work on it and learn more about html and the different resources for it. I hope that this will be some kind of a fun time capsule to remember what I've been thinking, feeling, and doing.

Song of the Day

One Headlight by The Wallflowers

I picked up a Bringing Down the House cassette recently, and I've been listening to it a lot ever since, which is why I have it as the SOTD. I've been thrifitng a lot of CDs and cassettes recently, and I've noticed that I can usually tell when I will like an album or a band. I was with my best friend at the time, and I picked it up because the cover and design looked super fun, and I pulled it up on Spotify to check it out. Once I had it playing and the chorus hit, he said that he recognized it, which convinced me to buy it. Got it for two bucks. It sounds a lot like a lot of 90s bands I like, not that I can think of any off the top of my head that are super similar. Maybe Marcy Playground and Pavement?

I also picked up two CDs today, Train self-titled EP and beautiful world by big head todd & the monsters. I recognized beautiful world in a collection that someone had posted on reddit, which was super interesting, because I couldn't help but remember the photograph of the little black girl rocking her star headband, bright orange sunglasses, and shirt the pink and blue the color of the cotton candy ice cream I used to eat in elementary school. The Train EP just looked so sick, the scratchy drawing and the distinct shade of yellow was just so mesmerizing that I had to get it. I've listened to both a little, but I'm liking it so far. I am very excited to get to know it better.
